Zoink Custom Typeface and Application

Zoink is an original display font made using Glyphs software. I started by hand drawing the letterforms, then scanning the sketches into glyphs and cleaning them up digitally.

Inspired by the psychedelic type of the 1960s, Zoink is funky and playful with unique letterforms and unusual weight displacement. To emphasize the curvature of the letters, I created 3D renderings in Blender.

I then used the typeface to design a conceptual vinyl cover for Assume Form by James Blake.
